Square Meal Review of The Stable at The Bull Hotel ?

Set in the old stables of the Bull Hotel, this aptly named venue is kitted out with long communal tables and benches that lend themselves to convivial chatting with strangers as well as friends, while hay bales, fat church candles and a laid-back, help-yourself vibe complete the pleasingly rustic package. As a self-proclaimed ‘cathedral to cider’, it offers over 50 West Country brews and specialist drinks, while a menu of bespoke pizzas loaded with Denhay bacon, Blue Vinney cheese and other Dorset specialities is perfect for lining the stomach – unless you want to pig out on a handcrafted pie, followed by apple crumble. In all, it’s a clever edit of the region’s heritage that consistently draws in the crowds – especially at weekends. A second Stable recently opened at 13 Custom House Quay, Weymouth, just in time for the Olympics.
