Swansea has been abuzz following the arrival of this sassy new French restaurant, where genuine Gallic food, polished service & an uncluttered, stylish interior (think bare wood, plus leather sofas & a wood burner) combine to produce something rather memorable. Factor in superb value for money (you can get steak & chips for under a tenner) & it’s easy to see why people keep coming back for more. The menu runs from rustic offerings including traditional fish soup & Toulouse-style cassoulet, through to more cheffed-up treats such as a warm salad of French wood pigeon, oyster mushrooms & pine kernels or pan-fried Dorset veal cutlet with a Calvados, cream & mushroom sauce. The cheeseboard is excellent, likewise desserts such as ‘oeuf à la coque’ or chocolate tart & sorbet with white chocolate mousse.
