Malmaison Aberdeen

A boutique venue for tourists, business types & golfers, the Aberdeen branch of Malmaison matches swanky accommodation with a promising line in food & drink. The brasserie is a cavernous room with an open kitchen & its own butchery – so expect top-grade steaks from the Josper Grill, as well as a mixed bag of dishes ranging from braised ox cheek with shallot purée & polenta chips to fillet of hake ‘paella’ As part of the Hotel du Vin group, Malmaison now has links with the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, & this outlet plays host to around 400 carefully annotated bottles, including some of the Society’s most treasured vintages. Sampling takes place in a bespoke ‘whisky snug’ – ‘perfect for corporate incentives, heaven for whisky spiritualists’, according to the blurb. Wine lovers also have plenty to cheer, with a knowledgeable list & a special tasting room.
