The Falkland Arms

A quintessential, creeper-clad thatched boozer overlooking an equally quaint village green, the 500-year-old Falkland Arms breathes cosy rusticity & heritage with its uneven flagstones, rough stone walls, oak settles & ancient beams festooned with ceramic tankards. In winter, grab a table & warm up by the crackling fire in the huge inglenook while sampling a pint or two from the extensive range of Wadworth's beers & guest ales. The Falkland is also renowned for its selection of snuff, pipe tobacco & clay pipes behind the bar & provides a daily changing blackboard menu of decent pub grub too – anything from gammon & eggs to pan-fried duck breast with apricot & cranberry sauce. During the summer, order one of the excellent ploughman’s or a hand-raised pork pie before heading out back to idle on the lawned garden & admire the views.
