With venues in Bristol's Totterdown, Montpelier, Easton & Clifton, this unpretentious mini-chain was born out of the ever-popular Thali Café tents that have toured the UK’s summer festivals for more than a decade. The eponymous thalis refer to the stainless steel trays that the meal is served on – an array of small bowls filled with different dishes, often with a regional Indian accent. There’s an emphasis on wholesome vegetarian & dairy-free choices, & the chain has been given awards for its sound ethical sourcing. Each venue also has a real community spirit, with local events advertised & the cafés themselves hosting storytelling & live music events. If you are a takeaway regular, invest in one of their sustainable & re-usable tiffin boxes.
