] At the very top of Blackboy Hill, hidden beneath an Indian restaurant & only accessible by ringing a doorbell, this late-night, Berlin-style drinking den has been serving in-the-know Clifton cocktail connoisseurs since it opened in 2006. German owner Aurelius Braunbarth has put together the longest cocktail list in town, with a full page devoted to each spirit. You'll find the ubiquitous cranberry juice, mint & a blender behind the bar, but it pays to stray beyond the usual cosmos, mojitos & daiquiris: try a 'last word' (a gin sour combining Beefeater, maraschino & lemon juice) or a 'Jack rose' (Calvados sour sweetened with grenadine). Have a cheeky mid-week sip in the intimate low-lit setting, or stand at the bar & marvel at the mixologists' skills until 2am every night.
