Cau from the outside looks like a high end restaurant and as you would expect an equally high end dining experience. Looks can be deceiving though and once inside the futuristic interior is more cowshed canteen than anything else. A 7.30 table had been booked and we were shown to our seats, the tables are so close together you can hear everyone elses conversations, so this was the first thing that I found irritating and not only that, there were plenty of free tables but the waitress decided to put us next to an occupied one. I understand that this is supposed to be a ‘casual’ dining experience but when you can get a more intimate dining experience in McDonalds, thats not a good thing.

The waitress was a bit clueless and asked us what we'd like to order when she'd literally just given us the menu? Odd.We ordered some mussles to begin with which were good, then ordered 2 steaks with a salad. One thing to note about the menus, I hated the fact that you had to construct the meal yourself, with everything being seperate – the steak, the sauces, the sides… seriously just give me a meal I can pick off the menu?! Job done.

The steaks were average and nothing special really, I've had better steak elswhere and just didnt understand what it meant by ‘argentinian beef our way’, what way is that? By the looks of it flame grilled, nothing overtly original. The waitress over the course of the evening became beyond irritating asking us if our starter tasted good, our main tasted good, is everything ok? Every 5 minutes…just leave me alone! Another thing, the tables are far too small, with everything coming out on its own seperate plate including the steak, chips, sauces, add onto that 2 wines and a waterjug and two more glasses and it just looked ridiculous, the waitress had serious problems getting everything on there, clearly this hasnt been thought out very well.

For the food, service and overall dining experience sadly I found it hugely overpriced and I wouldnt go back there even if wild Cau's dragged me.
