The brains behind high-end hit Gaucho are due to launch a more egalitarian version of the concept, which they hope, in time, to roll out country-wide. Cau aims to offer the same high-quality Argentinian cuts of meat upon which Gaucho prides itself at a price that will please the mid-market. As well as steaks, expect more of an emphasis on grills, with dishes such as steak sandwiches, burgers & sausages, plus non-meat-based dishes such as pasta. The design is likely to be as esoteric as Gaucho’s, with artificial grass covering the ceiling, as well as corrugated white walls.
