The Restaurant at Clachaig Inn

The Clachaig Inn has attained legendary status through its clientele, fitness-for-purpose & location; tucked away in a corner of craggy, dangerous Glencoe, it delivers the goods at the gateway to some of Scotland’s most dramatic hills. The spacious Boots Bar is the most atmospheric of the three drinking areas, the jukebox plays everything from AC/DC to the White Stripes, while serious climbers & curious tourists chat volubly on bench seating. The menu is big on beef, haggis & salmon, but there are vegetarian choices too. Three courses could bring mushrooms cooked with cream, Dunsyre Blue cheese & port to start, then a 6oz venison steak with baked apple & redcurrant sauce, with clootie dumpling & custard for dessert.
