Just to prove she can go one better than veggie queen Linda Mac, Heather Mills has launched her own vegan community café in a converted chippie on Hove Lagoon. VBites is a funky all-day affair complete with a cake & coffee bar, a kids menu & a dedication to ethical sourcing. Expect a global mix of dishes (many based on Mills’s own recipes), from build-your-own sandwiches, salads & pastas to re-fried bean tacos, sag paneer with rice crackers, Thai fishcakes & chicken-style nut korma – not forgetting vegan sausage & pepperoni casserole. To finish, try a cornet of Mrs Swirly – the animal activist’s answer to Mr Whippy ice cream. Drinks naturally include organic & vegan wines, as well as all manner of ‘milk choices’ (take your pick from soya, rice, almond, hazelnut, oat or quinoa).
