Once home to actress Jane Seymour, Elvetham is a stunning Grade II-listed 19th-century mansion close to the M3 & M4 (just 40 miles from London). Originally built on the site of a medieval manor, it’s set in 35 acres of impeccably landscaped gardens, with tree-lined avenues & a graceful parterre. The two dining rooms have ornate painted ceilings, full-length windows & monumental fireplaces. Fresh locally sourced ingredients are put to good use in dishes such as a terrine of chicken wrapped in leeks, & braised blade of beef with horseradish, broccoli & green beans.
