As you might expect of a hotel in tourist-rich Windsor, menus at The Tower Brasserie are stoutly British, flying the flag for native dishes. Soups include brown Windsor, there are oysters, crabs & lobsters, fish pie or fish & chips, while dedicated meat lovers are offered a choice of steaks & weekend roasts. Similarly, puddings are in the trifle, crumble, steamed sponge comfort zone. But there’s more modern cooking too, such as corn-fed chicken, sauteed spinach & wild mushroom ragout or sea bass with leeks, mussels & red wine reduction. Striking views of Windsor Castle make a great backdrop.
