This clean-lined daytime eatery is attached to the Pallant House Gallery, a showcase for modern British art, & offers a pleasing contemporary menu with views over a pretty Parisian-style courtyard garden. Breakfast here might mean smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, while choices at lunch take in pigeon breast on toasted brioche with a red wine jus, local sausages with caramelised onion mash, or wild mushrooms on toasted olive bread. On Thursday evenings the gallery remains open later & dinner is served – dishes might include slow-roasted belly of pork with Puy lentils, spinach risotto with Parmesan, and an orange pannacotta to finish.
