Square Meal review of Kings Arms:
Heath is a conservation village full of fine-looking buildings, including the dark & brooding Heath Hall built in 1753. The Kings Arms sits in a splendid location on Heath Common – a vast, open space dotted with untethered ponies – and beyond its handsome frontage lies an inviting historic interior, with coal fires, gas lamps, gleaming flagstone floors, battered tables & oak-panelled walls. It’s all incredibly atmospheric & dark – it takes a minute or two for your eyes to adjust. It’s a fine setting in which to enjoy a pint of locally brewed H B Clarke bitter or tuck into hearty & traditional pub grub: heaped platefuls of beef & ale pie, Yorkshire pudding & onion gravy, lamb's liver & onions, & haddock & chips. Treacle sponge pudding & custard for afters sets you up for a constitutional round the village before driving back down the road to the 21st century.
