About

The Villager was originally opened on Thursday 5th December 1985. Charlie and Barbara Littley bought the land in 1981. Charlie went to an auction with the intent on buying a plot of land to build his next house and came back having bought the land that the pub now stands on.

Roy Richards started with the foundations and John Rice (John the Brickie) laid the bricks. This was the start of what we have now. John stayed on and helped with other work. Charlie’s younger son Philip and family friend Dennis Cuckow also helped with the building project.

Our main emphasis is on quality food twinned with quality beers and wines and a friendly village atmosphere. We pride ourselves on good cheerful service with a smile.

The Villager has an extensive menu which is displayed for you on this website. Our real ales are all award winning ales. If you browse our wine and gin menu you are sure to find one that you love. Our staff are here to help you. if you are unsure of anything then please ask.
