About

The Jockey Inn is rural dining at its best. This stylish contemporary Cotswold inn is situated on the border between South Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, offering a slice of the glorious English countryside with its elevated hearty dishes. The chefs here have an infectious passion for local produce and use the best local and seasonal ingredients to ensure that the creative restaurant dishes and pub classics tastes as good as they look.

Having previously won the Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year prize in the Midlands category, The Jockey Inn has a fantastic reputation. The focus here is on simplicity and heritage, letting the quality of the produce speak for itself. The kitchen elevates pub grub with some interesting ingredients - think a scotch egg made with spicy ‘nduja and pork and served with tomato and red pepper chutney and piccalilli.

The mains are divided into pub classics like pot pies, beer battered fish and chips, and burgers, and main courses. Menu highlights include the venison trio served with pear and parsnip puree, pan seared fillet of sea bass and a flavoursome blue cheese and spiced pecan salad with honey citrus dressing. There’s also a bar menu serving light bites and pub classics to stop your stomach rumbling throughout the afternoon while you treat yourself to some real ales, innovative cocktails and wines selected from the floor-to-ceiling glass cellar.

The interior points back to the racing theme with some interesting and intricate details. Guests enter through the ‘The Tack Room’ which features leather saddles hung on chunky hooks. Inside, old pictures of jockeys and racing photos and memorabilia adorn the walls, paying tribute to both horse and jockey. There’s a relaxing homely feel about this space thanks to the use of natural materials like slate, oak and wicker, and the presence of some cosy fireplaces.
