About

Supawan, under the ownership of the executive chef Witchet Khongphoon, proudly brings the authentic flavours of Thailand to Kings Cross. Originally from the Phuket region, chef Witchet has made London his home for the past 22 years. With a rich background in hospitality, cultivated at the finest hotels in Phuket, and inspired by the culinary artistry of his mother, he transforms Supawan into a warm and inviting haven. Chef Witchet, a creative force of nature, infuses every aspect of Supawan with his personal touch. His goal is to craft a friendly restaurant, reminiscent of the wonderful dishes of his youth, offering a genuine taste of Thailand in his second home, London.

Supawan takes diners on a wonderful journey through the vibrant flavours of Thailand. One standout starter, meiang Phuket, captures the essence of coastal indulgence — a dish of grilled prawns presented on cha pruu leaves, adorned with a delectable ensemble of roasted coconut, peanuts, ginger, shallot, chilli, and lime. The pièce de résistance is the drizzle of shrimp paste and palm sugar dressing, harmonising the coastal symphony.

Tod mun khao pod, another starter option, showcases sweetcorn and Thai herb fritters, perfectly paired with a delicious tamarind and chilli sauce. Last but not least, the peek kai yud sai enchants with fried chicken wings, artfully stuffed with minced chicken, prawns, mushrooms, and glass noodles, accompanied by an irresistible tamarind and chilli sauce.

The menu extends its culinary embrace with southern Thai side salads, including the yum hoa plee — a banana flower salad adorned with prawns, roasted coconut, coconut milk, and tamarind dressing, crowned with crispy shallots, cashew nuts, mint, and peanuts. Southern Thai specialties grace the selection, such as pra muek pad ka pi — a stir-fried squid with pork, harmoniously blended with Koh Li Bong's shrimp paste, garlic, spring onion, and chilli. Completing the culinary odyssey is a famous southern Thai dish featuring stir-fried stinky beans, pork, and homemade red curry paste, ensuring an unforgettable Thai dining experience at Supawan in the heart of London.
