Charity which serves restaurant quality food to vulnerable people launches new supper club

A community kitchen and drop-in centre based in Earl’s Court, Refettorio Felix has a history of serving its community and beyond, and that community spirit continues across all seasons.

The charity’s main activity is to provide restaurant-quality food using surplus ingredients to vulnerable people, for free. Its primary ethos is to empower marginalised individuals in a space where they can feel safe and secure, and it operates with an open-door policy, meaning anybody who is struggling and needs support is welcome to attend without judgement.

This month, Refettorio Felix will be holding an Autumn Supper Club on 5 December, where anyone will be able to dine and sample the Head Chef’s ‘culinary wizardry’. Food and drink will be offered, alongside music from pianist Vladyslav Kuznetsoff, and an exciting auction with great prizes.

The dinner, the latest in a series of supper clubs, is part of an important fundraising project for the charity, and donations will go towards the great community work done by Refettorio Felix. The most recent Summer Supper Club helped to raise thousands of pounds – money which has since gone towards the daily running of the centre - and the team hope to have similar success with the Autumn event.

Refettorio Felix was founded in 2017, with a focus not just on providing food to those in need, but a warm, caring, hospitable environment. Regular donations of surplus food from The Felix Project mean that guests can be offered varied and nutritious meals.

And it’s not just meals on offer at Refettorio Felix – the organisation is engaged in a range of important initiatives to help its community. In 2021, the site was expanded by the addition of ‘Green Rooms’, spaces centred around the provision of mental health and wellbeing services.
