Crobar’s premises were once owned by Danny La Rue – not that life is ever in danger of becoming a drag at this unpretentious party shack. Me Love You Long Time Iced Tea, Vlad The Impaler & Screaming Orgasm in jugs mean that anyone expecting Mahiki or Sketch-style sophistication will be disappointed. Think Meatloaf meets Justin Lee Collins knocking back £5 margaritas with a blokey beer chaser (Budvar, Rolling Rock) & you’re getting there. Given the loud rock music, it is entirely appropriate that Crobar should offer an impressive range of Kentucky’s finest: Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, Johnny Drum Mellow Corn, Elijah Craig & Evan Williams. The inclusive atmosphere inevitably leads to its most well-lubricated patrons being prised out at 3am.
