This serviceable kaiten outfit on busy Kingsway is a popular shout for local workers & LSE students in search of a quick sushi fill-up – though larger groups can pack into the side booths for mighty bowls of noodles followed by a karaoke session in one of the bookable spaces downstairs. Top-notch sushi & sashimi, freshly prepared by chefs in the centre of the conveyor belt, includes mackerel, sweet shrimps & fatty tuna belly, all served on colour-coded plates (£2.20-5.20 each). Bulging hand rolls, neat maki & battleship maki loaded with gleaming fish roe are equally tempting, though hot dishes such as chicken teriyaki are more hit & miss. The set-up is smart – think a gleaming black counter & Japanese artwork lit by traditional square lanterns – but there have been a few gripes about service.

I’ve been here a few times and every time I realise why I fell in love with the place with its relaxing atmosphere and modern classic decor catering both to lunchtime workers with sushi on a conveyor belt (how ‘Yo Sushi’) or for anyone wanting a relaxing dining experience...
