Opposite the East London mosque, Indo is a welcoming & laid-back place on busy Whitechapel Road that attracts a mixed crowd to its worn-in surroundings (weathered wooden tables, green-leather sofas, faded sea-green wooden panelling, nicotine-stained ceiling). A decent choice of draught lagers (Budvar, Paulaner, San Miguel), bottled Belgians (Duvel, Leffe), plus London Pride for bitter fans, mixes with simple bar snacks (hoummos & pitta), ciabatta sandwiches, & the larger likes of steak & chips or sausages & mash. Monthly changing art lines the wall & DJs liven things up into the early hours at the weekend.
