Layers of yellowing paint & splintering floorboards are what to expect by way of decor; but if you’re looking for colour, there’s always the bartenders’ tattoos or the loo walls’ graffiti. It comes as a surprise to find some pretty superior thin & crispy pizzas here. Options such as La Reine topped with cured ham, black olives & mozzarella, or a Fiorentina with spinach & a runny egg can be ordered in half sizes with a salad. Nothing tops £7. Continental beers dominate the taps, with Mort Subite, Cristal & König Ludwig Weissbier among the choices.
