A fabulous hybrid of Victorian public house, Moulin Rouge peacockery & basement disco with illuminated dancefloor, ‘The Leccy’ certainly puts on a good show – & that extends to its generous liquid supplies. There are 10 taps behind the bar, among them Camden Town Brewery ales, Erdinger & Bombardier, as well as a good international selection of bottled beers including Sam Adams, Estrella Damm & Kirin Ichiban. The wine list is mundane in comparison – better to spend your pennies on classic cocktails (bramble, negroni, mojito, sours), all at £7. A new chef in the kitchen has led to slightly more adventurous dishes edging on to the menu, so along with old favourites like fish fingers & chips, there’s the likes of lamb burger with ciabatta (there’s posh for you).
