Smile’s doesn’t have anything in the way of frills, alcohol or a prime location to offer its regulars & it won’t accept their credit cards. But the side-street Thai in Brockley is nevertheless packed with BYO diners & takeaway punters wise to its wide range of delicious, freshly prepared curries, noodles, soups et al, mostly priced from £4 to £6. The menu also offers an impressive array of tofu options, as well as a quick lesson in basic Thai phrases. Service is cheerful & speedy, & the large, wooden statue that dominates the window table is a nice touch.
