Square Meal review of Rosemary Branch:
Boho, arty types join thirsty locals in this unpolished gem at the back end of Islington near the Grand Union canal. There’s an independent spirit to the well-maintained Victorian building with contemporary artworks hung on the walls, model planes suspended from the ceiling & a fringe theatre at the back. Some come for the show, some for the atmosphere, others for Czech lagers & English ales (Adnams or Fuller’s) alongside earthy, home-cooked dishes such as slow-roast rabbit with mustard & boeuf bourguignon – cooked by Drew Smith, former editor of The Good Food Guide, no less.
