The Chinese tapas that once provided the footing for this smooth & subtly luxurious spot on Islington Green are now more a footnote. Since its takeover by the Eclipse bar group, serious drinks have moved to the forefront: there’s a whole page devoted to mojitos, the famously strong Mai Tai is brought up to date with fresh pomegranate & passionfruit juice, while wines & Champagnes further bolster the list. Some loyalty to the original concept lingers on: a brief selection of small Asian plates (wild mushroom spring rolls, chicken & chilli dumplings) provides sustenance.
