Occupying a plum site on Clapham High Street, this loud, proud bar & restaurant makes no apologies for its less-than-serious approach. The arrival of a hefty cocktail list & a generous three-hour daily ‘happy hour’ point to B&B’s intent, though there’s plenty of space for diners, too. The cavernous interior is an attractive mix of exposed brickwork, dark wood paneling & crimson booth seating with fun touches like the antler chandeliers. Simple daytime salads, sandwiches & burgers (including a 100% elk version) are pleasant enough & refreshingly priced for these parts. Come evening, there are sharing platters & ‘pickers’ such as mini mezze, duck spring rolls & spicy buffalo wings. Weekend nights are jumping & large screens draw the crowds for major sporting events.
