Here is a no-nonsense working-man’s pub, with friendly staff, basic grub (steak & kidney pie, sarnies & chips) & a reasonable selection of ales & stout from Yorkshire brewer Samuel Smith – at really competitive prices. Themed stained-glass windows depicting sporting ‘champs’ from days gone by add some decorative novelty, while entertainment comes in the form of a dartboard & a weekly pub quiz.
