Review of The Queen's Larder: ? Write your own review

‘Mad’ King George III (who, in truth, suffered from a genetic blood disease) was regularly stretchered, & occasionally straitjacketed, off to his physician’s house in Queen Square. His wife, Queen Caroline, wanting to be nearby, rented a room below this picturesque inn & stocked its cellars with provisions fit for a king. That did not include Greene King IPA or Abbot, alas, which are present here alongside guest ales such as Titanic White Star & Ridley’s, but if you prefer strong Europeans, there’s Leffe. Enjoy them with roast beef or ploughman’s sandwiches in the flagstone alley outside, these days in the company of men in white coats from Great Ormond Street Hospital across the square.
