Sports bars usually conjure up lads in designer knock-offs drinking lager and watching footie, but this place is a rather different kind of place. Café Kick is a sports bar of sorts (it's the spiritual home of babyfoot in London and it shows live football), but with its vintage Formica tables, zinc bar and mini-booths, it's also cool and continental. Cocktails are at their cheapest during happy hour (4-7pm), when the beer of the day (perhaps Brahma or Mahou 5) is £2 a bottle. Food is global, but with a strong European slant: specials of albondigas in tomato sauce with rice or three-cheese and potato gratin supplement a café menu of niçoise-style pan bagna (Ortiz tuna, tomato and egg sandwich), soprasada with grilled bread, asparagus salad and torta di Santiago. Its Shoreditch sibling, Bar Kick, has 11 tables to the café's three.
