Smaller & invariably less frenetic than its younger Shoreditch sibling, Bar Kick, Clerkenwell’s Cafe Kick may be diminutive but the wait for games at its classic football tables is usually surprisingly short. Screens stay tuned to the latest sporting action, but the drinks offering is far superior to those of your average sports bar: Chimay, Sagres, Krombacher & Cusquena head a World Cup of lagers & there’s a short range of international cocktails & wines – with England yet again failing to make its presence felt. Tapas find Spain taking on Portugal in a high-scoring draw.
