Sitting between the meat market & St Bart’s hospital, The Bishop’s Finger attracts all manner of local wage slaves, drawn to a watering hole that feels rather like a country pub. It’s owned by Kent brewer Shepherd Neame, whose Spitfire, Master Brew & Bishop’s Finger beers are popular calls. Staff are invariably friendly & the interior, though jolly, is unlikely to be winning any design awards any time soon. Food is a hearty mix of rustic staples & a range of bangers.
