Square Meal review of New Fujiyama:
Brixton is not a dining destination, & New Fujiyama is not a destination restaurant but, as locals & regulars to the nearby Ritzy cinema or Brixton Academy know, it’s a great place for a quick pitstop. Particularly recommended are moreish gyoza, tempura starters & nourishing spicy ramen soups, whisked from the steaming open kitchen within minutes of ordering. Efficient staff don’t waste time on pleasantries, & tables in the small glass-fronted dining room are communal, but this doesn’t deter the droves of casually dressed customers. The wide-ranging selection of sushi is also popular &, given the speedy turnover of diners in this neighbourhood favourite, freshness is guaranteed.
