A decked garden that is more Conran Shop than B&Q is not the least of The Lighthouse’s charms. In the main bar & dining room, a sea of calming greens & blues gels with a hodgepodge of seemingly random furnishings, producing a seaside feel. A snappy menu lets its ingredients do the talking: moist, caper-laced tuna carpaccio with rocket salad, battered coley & hand-cut chips & red mullet pan-fried with fennel, asparagus & runner beans make ideal summer mains. Wines run from £12.50 to £40, with 10 offered by the glass, while Staropramen, Leffe, Amstel & Ansells bitter appear on draught. The Lighthouse is a welcoming beacon for anyone washing up on the grim reef that is Battersea Park Road.
