Hi Sushi Salsa

The Hi Sushi chain has several outposts in north London (see www.hisushi.net for details) but this branch, nestled by Camden Lock, is by far the most lively, combining Japanese food with South American cocktails & a nightly DJ. Kick off the evening with a Green Tea Mojito at the bar before taking a seat at sunken tables in the rear of the room. Thick sushi rolls are filled with the likes of rock shrimp, salmon roe, spring onion & daikon, while fresh fish can also be found in sashimi salad with spicy lemon dressing & mackerel cooked on the robata grill. The odd dish merges South American & Japanese flavours, though we weren’t impressed by the bland ‘Seafood Pawpaw’. Staff are sweet, prices reasonable & the tables on the waterside terrace are popular in summer.
