Owned by the same people as The Winchester in Islington, pub/late night DJ bar The Lodge Tavern brings inner-city style to the ’burbs. Bold colour clashes jazz up an interior that owes something to a lumberjack’s cabin. Beers include Kronenbourg, Fosters, Baltika & Broadside on draught, while wines target younger tastebuds, with cocktails competently mixed. Food has robust meat-&-two veg appeal (with roasts on Sunday) while modish salads cater to calorie-counters. Music-wise, anything from The Fratellis to Frank Sinatra goes & there’s free Wi-Fi & good outdoor space.
