Square Meal Review of The Copper Cow ?

A residential street-corner location, contemporary trappings & crowd-pleasing international food attract a happy hubbub of locals to this bovine-themed venue – spot the model beasts decorating the bar. Fitted out with polished wooden flooring, light-grey walls & plenty of window space, the Copper Cow is bright during the day & dimly lit at night – just the spot for a relaxing glass of wine or a cocktail (try the special frozen margarita). The adaptable menu encompasses snacks for the drinkers (a mezze sharing platter, for instance), Saturday brunches, Sunday roasts & a list of simple but tempting dishes along the lines of chicken liver parfait or blue swimmer crab & avocado salad followed by seafood linguine or marinated char-grilled chicken, with Eton mess for pud. Half-price food on Mondays, Wednesday steak nights & Sunday quizzes maintain the local interest through the week.

I'm almost tempted not to write a review for fear of others invading my secret find in Grove Park! But that would just be doing a disservice to the Copper Cow. This gastro pub is run by a young team but where everyone of all ages is welcomed and would feel comfortable. If you just want a drink after work, it offers a great range of drinks and I can personally vouch for the frozen margaritas; not too sweet and just the right amount of tequila and salt. But its real talent is its down to earth food with something to tempt everyone. The nachos with all of the trimmings, the burger and the haloumi, to name a few, are all mouth watering and delicious. Portions are generous, which I know does put some people off but what would you rather, being full or going hungry? All in all, a great place with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and tasty, reasonably priced comfort food.

Just a lovely ‘local’ restuarant that doubles up as the local pub for sleepy Grove Park. Nice menu with something to please everyone and some nice sharing platters. Tables inside and out and currently NO controlled parking zone outside! Monday's offer half priced meals, amazing value and always busy and during the winter months on Sundays a fabulous quiz night! Lovely spot for Friday nights straight after work for a quick scoff and a couple of drinks in pleasant surroundings and a nice crowd!
