Light-wood interiors, a cluttered bar & Thai ornaments make for a characterful setting, & the cooking, if not spectacular, is a cut above the norm. Start with a hearty bowl of soup for £5 – vermicelli noodles with chicken, prawns, squid & Chinese leaf, for instance – or opt for a fresh, tangy salad such as the signature som tam, with raw papaya & peanuts. Curries pack in plenty of flavour & are priced around £7, with the house speciality of massaman lamb (cooked with potatoes, coconut milk & peanuts) just a pound dearer.
