The Tabard

Now sporting a slimmed-down menu focusing on the kitchen’s most popular dishes, The Tabard is principally a real ale destination for Chiswick's young professionals, who come here to fill up on the sandwiches & linger over a glass or two in the frequently bustling, bench-filled patio. Inside, the charming listed building is deceptively large & divided up into lots of little drinking areas; catching the attention of the bar staff as they flit from one part to another can be a challenge, but when you do you'll be well looked after. For sustenance, the smart money is generally on the aforementioned sandwiches (sausage & mustard, for example), although you can also get falafel burgers, Welsh rarebit & lighter options such as tuna mayo & salad.
