The team behind Hackney City Farm’s Frizzante have come to Mudchute’s country-meets-city adventure to see if they can replicate their award-winning formula here. Like Hackney, the bedrock of the menu is breakfast (served all day) & various pasta dishes. Children – sorry, ‘young farmers’ – get a menu of their own, but grown-up Italian specials such as four-cheese gnocchi, pork belly & borlotti stew or walnut & coffee amaretti cake are where the real excitement lies. Bugaboo-pushing mums from across the borough & beyond will find a friendly, urban/rustic haven here, well stocked with Chegworth juices, Italian ice cream, dark chocolate brownies & extra-strong coffee. The talented ex-River Café chef who won the place its reputation is sorely missed, but it’s still packed to the rafters on sunny weekends.
