After years as a much-loved deli and café, Megan’s has made the transition to an all-day restaurant without losing any of its quirky charm. Its hugely popular salads are still available at lunchtime, along with cakes, coffees and sandwiches, while the interior’s cosy nooks and crannies are as beguiling as ever – although the secluded, mature garden will always be its major selling point. These days, Megan’s also turns tricks in the evening, offering up a Mediterranean-style grill menu for hungry Fulhamites. The kitchen plays it simple, offering the likes of globe artichoke and vinaigrette, grilled octopus with salsa verde or côte de boeuf for two – perfect flavours for the setting. Sit back, order a second bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and soak up an atmosphere seemingly light years from the hubbub of the metropolis.
