Long-serving Megan stepped down in 2010, but her New King’s Road legend just keeps on rolling. The big draw at this ‘hidden little treasure’ has always been its secluded, leafy garden, & it remains a superb daytime drop-in for local workers & yummy mummies. However, it now does duty as a full-time, Provençal-style restaurant too, with ‘delicious breads, decent wines, charming service & pretty interiors’ among its prime assets – along with an easily priced evening menu offering mixed platters & the likes of beef carpaccio or globe artichokes with vinaigrette ahead of char-grilled mains (anything from bavette steak with béarnaise sauce to octopus with salsa verde). There are also some pleasing wines to complete the experience. ‘Go now, while you can still get a table’, urges one avid fan.
