As if the arrival of Shoreditch House wasn’t enough, Bethnal Green Road is hotting up even more with the opening of Beach Blanket Babylon. The new four-floor venue promises to mirror its Notting Hill sibling with an outrageous exhibition of eccentricity: elaborate decor, huge marble bars & quirky artwork. The ground-floor restaurant is arranged on different levels, with plenty of space for private dining, & serves up a range of British & international dishes including steak & ale pie, trio of melon with cured ham, & sirloin beef & foie gras burger. Navigate your way down to the glitzy cocktail bar in the basement using the old-style cage lift. Soon there'll even be an exotic roof garden complete with fountains, tropical birds & palm trees.
