Square Meal review of Vivezza:
Launched & relaunched within a few weeks, Vivezza seemed at first to set itself apart as the casual option among umpteen smart Italians, but no sooner had the locals started piling in than pizzas were out & tablecloths in. However, the fabulous pastas survived the relaunch & the likes of rocket tagliolini with fresh crab & Sicilian tomatoes knock spots off more elaborate mains. Balsamic-laced mash proves a flourish too far in the otherwise classic dish of pan-fried calf’s liver with fried onion, while asparagus souffle & basil oil seem dated accompaniments to sea bass. The service is efficient & friendly but tables are too tightly spaced. It’s not quite the smart destination it wants to be.
