‘Stack it high & sell it cheap’ might be Amuse Bouche’s mission statement. With Champagne from £5 a glass, it’s hard to beat this Soho offshoot of the Fulham original for value. Further into the list, there’s great fizz to be had from that unsung hero Deutz at £35, Billecart-Salmon rosé (£60) & red-letter day Pol Roger Cuvée Winston Churchill ’98 at £130, up to a £750 magnum of Cristal 2000 (billed as ‘something to show off with’). Cocktails from £5.50 include Champagne mojito (Matusalem rum, mint lime & fizz) & there are just five wines, all at £17.50; otherwise drink Kasteel Cru lager. Nibbles run to baby bagels, mini fish & chips, & cured meat platters, with special deals available in a basement function room. The decor may be more Ryanair than Learjet, but it’s comfy enough in a 1980s wine bar kind of way.
