Square Meal review of Divo:

After a deluge of negative reviews from professional food critics, Divo decided morph into a more upscale and sophisticated look, dropping the plasma screens of tourist films, the costumes, and the disappointing ‘comfort food’ such as the lacklustre chicken kiev that lacked any garlic butter filling. Instead, the now elegant menu, a fusion of traditional Ukranian and pan-continental flavours, features dressed up versions of borsch served with braised ox-cheek and pampushki bread, pickled herring salad layered with various vegetables and quail eggs, dumplings ravioli style of pork and beef, dumplings vareniki of potato, cabbage and mushroom or veal, and deruni potato pancakes filled with mushrooms with a cream sauce. With this transformation, Divo has conformed not only to London’s standards, but also the upscale Londoner’s taste. Guests can now take advantage of one of London’s largest collections of vodka by ordering zakuski, or small plates traditionally eaten with cold vodkas. Or, try the three course express lunch and pre-theatre menus for £15.50. The extensive cocktail list and innovative dessert list are a sweet way to top off the meal. With its re-envisioning, Divo has turned itself around.
