This first London branch of a well-established South African chain is well suited to large groups, with a lively (at times noisy) vibe & broad menu. The interior is ablaze with blue neon lights, fish tanks, & a choice of seating that includes booths, hibachi tables (around which diners sit as chefs grill their food) & a conveyor-belt sushi bar. The please-all menu ranges from steak sandwiches & Caesar salads, through to seafood platters, curries, stir-fried noodles & surf & turf. A respectably prepared teppanyaki meal featured six juicy prawns cooked in the shell served with miso soup & a sprightly prawn & avocado salad, though the bland grilled veg & steamed rice were less appealing; a plate of nicely tender teriyaki salmon with pickled cucumber was also decently done. Service is on the slow side, but it can be avoided by perching at the sushi bar & picking from the reasonably priced plates of sashimi, nigiri & maki trundling by.

Having been to a branch of this restaurant in Cape Town – i was looking forward to visiting the new UK site. Unfortunately it was one of the worst diring experiences i have had in recent years. The design of the restaurant and the attention to detail is terrfic,,, unfortunately this attention to detail wasn't carried through to the kitchen. It was overpriced and badly cooked – the calarmari seemed like it was frozen and the chips seemed of the oven variety. The general manager who was apparently there seemed disinterested in our complaints… and after two attempts at a decent meal we left,. A very disappointing experience and a waste of time.
