Square Meal review of Kenza:

Kenza is the Arabic word for ‘treasure’, & descending to this basement restaurant, filled with rose petals & tactile fabrics, does feel like entering an Aladdin’s cave. Time-pressed diners should opt for one of the various set menus offering mezze & a main; we went for the lamb feast (£45 per person), in which slow-roast whole lamb shoulder with spiced mixed rice was preceded by a generous mezze spread: tangy hoummos & baba gannouj scooped up with freshly baked bread; tender chicken wings imbued with the smoky flavour of the charcoal grill; & kibbe lahme, little lamb pasties. Afterwards, the sticky pastries & sweet Turkish delight served with the theatrically poured mint tea were delicious. The smiling staff – including the belly dancers who sashay around at dinner – add to the feel-good vibe of the place, while the enterprising wine list – including a luscious Chateau Musar & a Muscatel de Ksara, both from Lebanon – is well worth consulting the sommelier on.
