The name means ‘treasure' in Arabic, and Kenza doesn't disappoint as you enter this bejewelled dining room filled with hanging lamps, bijou booths and ornate design flourishes. House cocktails and homemade lemonades are a great way to start, and readers are quick to praise Kenza's ‘truly fabulous' mix of authentic Lebanese and Moroccan food. Eating from the carte isn't the cheapest way to go – particularly if you factor in excellent hoummos, baba gannouj and falafel – so plump for one of the ‘feasts' such as the mashawy version (a generous mezze spread plus a mixed grill and dessert for £29.50). A bevy of belly dancers entertain diners every evening, while DJs rock the casbah on Friday and Saturday nights. ‘A totally wonderful experience', exclaimed one enraptured customer. Kenza has also introduced a takeaway service, too, for City workers on the go.

Diners are greeted with beautiful interiors inspired by a distinct Middle Eastern theme, including rich fabrics, carved tables, low seating and glittering lamp light. Not only does it instantly engage the eyes, but Kenza pleases the other senses too, by playing aptly relaxing music which mingles in with the mysterious scents of incense sticks. There is a bar areas and an equally lavish dining area full of secret alcoves and private dining sections. The decor here definitely creates a real atmosphere. However depending on whether you like to see your food and company, some people may find it a bit too dark to eat in...
