Square Meal review of Camino:
Camino comes from the same stable as lively bars Cargo & Cantaloupe, opening its doors in summer 2007 in the Regent Quarter, the vast & somewhat soulless leisure, business & residential development that is part of the King’s Cross regeneration. The attractive Spanish eatery combines exposed wooden floors & brick & cork walls with leather chairs, bold artwork & a glass-domed roof for a laidback, trendy feel. Cooking is a bit hit & miss: fresh mackerel escabeche, & roast piquillo peppers filled with crab & seafood sauce both offer vibrant Hispanic flavours, but fish stew with boiled eggs was bland & under-seasoned. Those after something lighter should head to the bar for tapas, sangria, beers or wines from the well-structured, all-Spanish list. Friendly service & a lovely courtyard are further pluses.
