Benugo Bar & Kitchen at BFI Southbank

Ordered Ribeye steak chips and a bunch of leaves, over £18 Can't go wrong with Ribeye eh!!! Wrong!!!
apart from being very small ( thats fine cos I don't eat much anyway) I can honestly say that I did not swallow one
piece of that steak, every mouthful I chewed and chewed, then had to take it out of my mouth it was so full of gristle
every single mouthful bar none. I told the waitress, and she said why did i not say before, i said because I was expecting the next bite would improve, she said in a rather rude tone, well I asked you if everything was OK and you said fine, BUT she asked me this before I took my first mouthful. so of course it was fine then.

I was charged for this I said why am I being charged for something I could not eat? so she took the bill and reduced it by £4 I paid but was so unhappy that I did not even eat the steak at all, now I am going to write to the Company.
her attitude was disgusting. The chips were very dry, the leaves were fine. Never eat there again. I feel now that I should have refused to pay for the steak. The restaurant itself was OK no more than just OK. Wished I had taken a photo of it now.

Great Bar, but the restaurant isn't up to much. Found the food overpriced, in fact was over charged for one of the main meals. We ordered pan fried Haddock, which despite looking good lacked any seasoning or flavour.We also order a Caesar salad this was very minimal,bland and £12.The bar is cool thou, so next time it will just be a drink. Which is a bit of a shame as we're BFI members.

It was a fantastic venue for my event! Their lounge is very confortable and the staff offers an excellent service!

My partner and I visited this lovely cool venue last week and had a great time. We arrived a little early and went to the bar for a drink 1st and the entertaining barstaff served up a couple of fantastic Mojitos. After moving into the restaurant we were sat in a great location by the windows. The menu is a little on the small side and the wine list on the large side but the food we had was delicious. I ate the squid for starter and my partner had the goats cheese salad. Our mains were sea bass and pousin chicken with chorizo. We couldn't really fault the food to be honest. There was some live music on also which was unexpected and gave a nice touch to the evening. We wil be going back and taking friends next time.

Just got back from dinner at Benugo and not feeling too well. The main problem was finding a piece of used clingfilm in my dinner – the vegetarian option. Thankfully I only found it at the end of my meal so it didn't spoil my enjoyment too much. The waiter handled it well and gave us free desserts and reduced the bill substantially but still it does make you think about the standards in their kitchen. Definitely would not go back.

A most disappointing lunch at this unattractive restaurant. We waited over 30 minutes between starter and main course – the waiter said, when I mentioned the wait, that ‘the trouble is, everyone arrives at the same time’. Er yes…lunchtime!

I asked for a bottle of lager and was given a pint of draft. The female staff member who served us was snippy and over-familiar. And the dire ‘background’ music was intrusive.

The bill was £70 for two, for two courses each and four drinks. My liver (or venison, according to the bill) was raw. My companion's salmon (or cod, according to the bill) was OK.

I will not return.

Staff were tremendous (always helpful and attentive without being intrusive and no “timed table” rubbish), food was well prepared, delicious and varied, whilst the ambience was low key and relaxed without being down market. Recommend grabbing a booth to enjoy a long lunch in a totally chilled atmosphere. Overall great VFM without having to sacrifice service or quality.
