Battersea gastropub Matilda has waltzed off & reopened under the same ownership, with the new incarnation being aimed at local young couples who wish they lived in Chelsea. We reckon the homely, pubby feel & country-style dining room will be more warmly received than its predecessor. Food flits from French brasserie staples to English classics: expect pot-roast meats, rib-eye steaks, moules mariniere, bouillabaisse & the like. Drinks include a range of Belgian brews, such as Maredsous, & an interesting & well-priced wine list. We warm to any local that offers Primitivo di Puglia for £18.75.
