It’s worth checking out owner Gary Henshaw’s Chinatown original just for camp afternoon tea with cupcakes & cocktails – although any outing to Ku pretty much guarantees pretty boys (& girls) &, inevitably, some late-night disco shenanigans in Lisle Street’s downstairs club bar. Intimidating, it’s not. Weekday deals on shots or spirits & mixers (a G&T will set you back as little as £1.50) keep the customers satisfied & Ku’s Champagne bar will impress the more elegantly inclined punter. Soirées such as Wednesday’s poptastic Shinky Shonky, Ruby Tuesday or Friday’s Fabulous are popular draws. There’s a second outlet, spread over three floors (including a trendy subterranean lounge & powder room), at 25 Frith Street (020 7287 7986).
