Gaydar is an internet dating site for fellas unwilling to waste valuable time trawling bars for their latest catch. So it’s something of a surprise, then, to find that Gaydar has opened its own bar, Profile. Designer Shaun Clarkson (Odette’s, William IV) seems to have taken a glam-rock gig circa 1972 as his lurid inspiration, with the bar’s three floors decorated in the sort of day-glo colours that look like an explosion in a bubblegum factory. It’s all set to loud electro beats courtesy of Gaydar Radio DJs broadcasting live from within. Subtle it ain’t, but it’s already proving hugely popular. Other attractions include designer superlagers (Kronenbourg Cru, Leffe), fair-ish cocktails &, for those who find old-style courting rituals an alien concept, free internet access in a darkened upstairs room.
