The Yellow House sticks out like a banana amid the dull architecture of Surrey Quays. Yet it is the quality of the food that’s most mismatched to an area not overly endowed with good restaurants. Despite the odd excursion into gazpacho, blinis with smoked salmon or confit duck, the menu is Italian, with pizzas a particular strength. There are 10 toppings to choose from, & the variety ranges from the conventional margherita or four seasons to the unexpected spicy aubergine. The short wine list is well chosen & easy on the pocket, but our main grumble relates to the tight table spacing, the Yellow House really has to pack in its customers.
